Miranda vs. Arizona:
A man named Ernesto Miranda was arrested for kidnapping and rape. He was an immigrant and the officers did not read him his rights when they arrested him. However, he did sign a confession 2 hours after he was arrested. The statement noted that he was aware of his rights. When Miranda had gone into court his lawyer was not overruled to use his confession that he signed. Miranda was guilty and give a 20-year sentence. Not stating the rights that people have before they are arrested violated the 5th and 6th amendment of the Constitution. The 5th because everyone has the right to remain silent and the 6th for the right to a fair counsel. After this case it is mandatory that when arrested the police officers must state your Miranda Rights .
